 Job Description
About Kimberley Renal Services

Kimberley Renal Services (KRS) includes 4 Renal Health Centres based in Fitzroy Crossing, Broome, Kununurra, and Derby and a mobile prevention unit.

The incidence of Kidney Disease in the Kimberley is one of the highest in Australia. Chronic Kidney disease (CKD) and End-Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) incidence within the Aboriginal population of the Kimberley greatly exceeds the national burden of disease. Dialysis prevalence for this region has more than tripled in the last decade and is increasing at a much faster rate than in the rest of Western Australia (WA).

KRS and the regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) have developed a renal strategic plan to help combat this health crisis. This has enabled many patients to return to the Kimberley from Perth, which is 2,500kms away, to receive their treatment.

About the Opportunity

Kimberley Renal Service has an opportunity for a dedicated Level Two Registered Nurse to join their KRS team in Broome, WA, on a 0.4 part-time basis (up to 76 hours).

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will deliver culturally appropriate holistic renal health care to the Aboriginal community, contributing to the development of a KRS continuous quality improvement framework. This is a supervisory role which will see you leading the support and skill development of KRS staff, including a Level One Registered Nurses and Aboriginal Health Worker.

To be successful in this position, you will be an AHPRA Registered Nurse with experience in renal health, including acute and in-centre dialysis. A Certificate in Nephrology and/or a Cert IV in Training and Assessment is desirable, but not mandatory.

About the Benefits

KRS is committed to improving employee knowledge, skills and experience, with staff development programs not only encouraged but often paid for by the organisation. This is a great opportunity to develop your career and help make a change in Aboriginal health practices.

For your hard work and dedication, you will receive an attractive salary of $84,960 per annum plus super. In addition, you will be given a range of additional benefits to further increase your take home pay including:

* Subsidised accommodation up to $13,000;

* Annual airfares after 12 months of employment to the value of $1,285; and

* 5 weeks annual leave for every 12 months of services

Don't miss this exciting and rewarding opportunity to have a positive impact on the health outcomes of Indigenous communities in the spectacular Kimberley region - Apply Now!
