Education Support Worker - Maths





* Casual Position Available

* Approx. 10 hours per week, Based in Blacktown

* Great Hourly Rate

The ONE Centre is an initiative of Marist180 and Australian Catholic University, and aims to provide the young people within the Blacktown community an opportunity to participate in a positive learning environment. The fully equipped education centre provides a regular homework club and the space to run workshops and programs that complement the young people's learning. The ONE Centre is open to students in Years 6-12 from schools in the local Blacktown area.



We are seeking an experienced secondary Maths teacher to work as part of a team, providing one-on-one assistance with schoolwork, as well as planning and facilitating group workshops as required. Applicants should have a particular interest in supporting students who may have experienced gaps in their learning.



Selection Criteria





* Relevant qualifications in education

* Experience in providing educational support to students in Mathematics

* Effective listening, verbal communication and negotiation skills

* Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Marist180 and the overall purpose of the ONE Centre

* Sound motivational skills

* Ability to work autonomously (under general supervision only) and be a proactive member of a small team of staff

* Experience in working with young people from diverse backgrounds
